THE AGEING PROCESS AND AGEISM

TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP
The course is designed for managers who are working with older people and require to update their knowledge of the ageing process and ageism.
SYNOPSIS
The course examines the physical, psychological, social and behavioural aspects of ageing and allows the participants to examine their own and others attitudes to ageism.
AIM
To give participants a sound knowledge of the ageing process. Including the cultural and social issues of ageism.
OBJECTIVES
Having completed the course participants will have:
1. Examined the physical, psychological, social and behavioural aspects of ageing.
2. Examined their own attitudes to ageism and those expressed by modern society.
3. Explored and identified ways of helping the older person to cope with ageing.
4. Gained a deeper understanding of how the ageing process affects the older
person.
