Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP

The course is designed for sufferers ,care and senior staff, within any organisation, who care for staff or clients with PTSD.

SYNOPSIS

The course will explore and extend participants' knowledge about this disorder: the forms it can take, those who are at risk, various explanations for the occurrence of signs and symptoms and possible outcomes and response options. Participants will go on to look at their own practice in this field.


AIM

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the opportunity to examine the wider issues of the topic, and to from and develop care and support optioins and management strategies. 

OBJECTIVES

Having completed the course, participants will/should be able to :

1.Understand what PTSD is
2.Identify features of it and reasons behind it
3.How to assist the client, exploring support, empathy and treatments 
4.How to ensure a consistent care management strategy
