TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP
The course is designed both for care and senior staff, within any organisation, who Move and Handle clients and/or objects.
SYNOPSIS
The course will explore and extend participants' knowledge of Efficient Moving & Handling, including The Law, Individual Responsibilities, Conditioning Exercises, Patterning Movements, Moves relevant to their work place, Care Planning (including Moving & Handling Plans). Participants will explore their own capability and the use of equipment.
AIM
The aim of the course is to reduce the risk to the client and staff member through Efficient Moving & Handling. Participants will have ample opportunity to develop and improve their technique.
OBJECTIVES
Having completed the course, participants will/should be able to :
1.Identify Efficient Moving & Handling
2.Identify Inefficient Moving & Handling
3.Be aware of Risk Assessment
4.Devise or interpret a Moving & Handling Plan
5.Identify the main legal implications
6.Be familiar with appropriate use of equipment
