Managing Teams

TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP
This course is designed for people from the care sector who wish to develop and/or build on their existing team management skills.
It is aimed at new or prospective managers, or existing managers who feel they need some formal training to enhance their team relations.
SYNOPSIS
This course provides participants with the opportunity to gain a broad overview of team management skills in the care sector and to improve both their skills and understanding in this area.
AIM
To assist managers in the care environment with skills and understanding to support good team practice in times of change.
OBJECTIVES
Having completed the course, participants will / should be able to:
1. Understand the core team management skills necessary for a manager to be effective in a care environment.
2. Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of self management, team management, communication skills, empowerment and objective setting.
3. Work as an enabler of good management practice in their organisation.
4. Demonstrate the relevance of both quality and equality commitments to good team practice in the care sector.
