Lone Workers & Personal Safety

TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP
This course is aimed at staff and volunteers who work on their own or who work with clients who may be violent or aggressive.
SYNOPSIS
Participants will review skills and strategies for preventing or diffusing challenging behaviour and enhancing personal safety whilst working alone or with clients.
AIM
To heighten self-awareness of an individual in order to enhance personal safety.
OBJECTIVES
Having completed the course, participants will / should be able to:
1. Describe what is meant by challenging behaviour, violence and aggression<
2. Demonstrate an enhanced self-awareness
3. Identify ways of enhancing client / resident safety
4. Identify skills / strategies required for the prevention of challenging behaviour
5. Developed an understanding of how risk assessment can enhance personal safety when lone working
