This course is designed for Care/Support Teams who need to gain an understanding of the concepts of maximising client participation.

Synopsis

This course is designed for Care/Support Staff and First Line Managers and will clarify the purposes and principles of Participation & Involvement
And the links between this, advocacy, and non-resident liaison. Delegates will develop their skills and gain a basic knowledge in this concept; they will be enabled to record methods of maximising involvement, participation and advocacy.

The aim of the course is to provide participants with basic understanding of the concept of involvement, participation and advocacy

Objectives

1. Understand what ‘involvement, participation and advocacy’ is.
2. Identify formal methods of promoting and recording this.
3. Be able to explore less formal, yet vital elements.
4. Identify ones own role in this process.
5. Recall the main principles of this concept.
6. Acknowledge the concept as individual clients’ right.
