Epilepsy and Epileptic Seizure awareness



DURATION: From Half Day


TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP

The course is designed both for care and senior staff, within any organisation, who care for clients who have epilepsy.

SYNOPSIS

The course will explore and extend participants' knowledge about epilepsy: the forms it can take, those who are at risk, various explanations for the occurrence of epilepsy and possible outcomes and response options. Participants will go on to look at their own presentation in epileptic seizure, including submitting a report.

AIM

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the opportunity to examine the wider issues of the topic, and to from and develop care and epilepsy management strategies. 

OBJECTIVES

Having completed the course, participants will/should be able to :

1. Understand what epilepsy is
2. Identify features of it and reasons behind it
3. How to assist the client 
4. How to ensure a consistent care management strategy
