DYING AND DEATH OF A CLIENT

TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP

The course is designed for staff, within any organisation, who care for clients who will die.

SYNOPSIS

The course will explore and extend participants' knowledge about the topic: the forms death can take, the effects, various explanations for the occurrence of grief and bereavement and possible response options. Participants will go on to look at their own presentation in the event of clients death.

AIM

The aim of this one day course is to gain an understanding of the wider issues concerning death. Attendees will explore their own perceptions and beliefs and those experienced by the client and family. 

OBJECTIVES

1. Define death
2. Explore the physical and psychological effects to the dying person
3. Explore the physical and psychological effects to those 'left behind'
4. Discuss individual perceptions and beliefs
5. Identify coping strategies
