This course is designed for Carers, or Care Teams who need to gain an understanding of the topic.
Synopsis
This course is designed to clarify varying therapeutic methods of
reminiscence for clients with Dementia. Delegates will develop their skills and gain a basic knowledge in this topic, whilst
clarifying reflective thoughts and present day orientation.
Aim
The aim of the course is to enable Carers, or Care Teams to gain an understanding of
Therapeutic Reminiscence in Dementia, the effect it has on the individual, possible
methods and the most appropriate techniques to present day orientation.
Objectives;
Having completed the course, participants should;
1. Define Reminiscence
2. Recognise it's benefits and possible contradictions
3. Consider the range and variety of methods that maybe used for
individual clients.
4. Explore various strategies for therapeutic reminiscence whilst
promoting orientation.
