Huntington's Disease


DURATION: From Half Day


TARGET PARTICIPANT GROUP


The course is designed both for care and senior staff, within any organisation, who care for clients with Huntington's Disease

SYNOPSIS

The course will explore and extend participants' knowledge about the topic: it's cause, symptoms, progression and treatment. Participants will go on to look at their role in caring for a sufferer.


AIM

The aim of the course is to provide participants with the opportunity to examine the wider issues of Huntington's disease. 

OBJECTIVES

Having completed the course, participants will/should be able to :

1.Understand what Huntington's Disease is

2.Identify features of it and reasons behind it

3.Identify their role as carers 

4.How to promote independence for the client

5.Identify how to assist with the client's Activities of Daily Living
