This course is designed for Care Teams who need to explore various methods of Effective Communication with the Elderly.

Synopsis

This course is designed to clarify methods of communication. Delegates will develop their skills and gain a basic knowledge in this topic, whilst exploring and improving current communication techniques.

AIM
To provide participants with an overall understanding of the importance of good communication and develop their skills in communicating effectively with older people.

OBJECTIVES
On completion of the course participants will/should be able to :

2.Understand the importance of questioning techniques.
3.Explain the characteristics of an effective listener.
4.Identify ways of communicating with clients who have communication difficulties.
5.Explain ways in which communication can be improved.
